Is OnlyFans safe and legit? What fans should know

Updated · Figures come from TastyFans's index of public creator profiles and refresh hourly

OnlyFans itself is a legitimate, UK-registered company and is safe to use if you sign in at onlyfans.com yourself. The real risks for fans are scams and fake sites around it, auto-renewing charges you forget, and a bank statement that names OnlyFans.

Is OnlyFans a legitimate company?

Yes. According to its Terms of Service, OnlyFans is operated by Fenix International Limited, a limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 10354575) with its registered office in London. Its terms, privacy policy, complaints policy and the standard contract between fans and creators are all published on the site, and disputes are governed by English law, with any consumer rights where you live still applying.

Is it safe to pay on OnlyFans?

Payments go through a third-party payment provider, and creators never see your card details. A few things catch people out: prices are charged in US dollars with sales tax added, so the total can be more than the price shown; subscriptions renew automatically until you switch auto-renew off; and if one saved card fails, OnlyFans tries the next. Paying on OnlyFans covers what you’re charged and why cards get declined, and cancelling a subscription how to stop renewals.

Is OnlyFans private?

From creators, mostly. They see the username, display name and picture you choose, and what you buy from them, but not your real name, email address or card. OnlyFans and its payment provider hold those details, and your bank statement will usually name OnlyFans. OnlyFans privacy for fans explains what shows where and how to keep your account private.

The real risks: scams and fake sites

Most harm to fans happens off onlyfans.com:

  • “Free OnlyFans” generators, unlockers and leak sites. Nothing unlocks a paid page for free. These ask for surveys, downloads or your login, and can carry malware.
  • Fake login pages. Emails and messages about a “problem with your subscription” can lead to a copy of the sign-in page. Type onlyfans.com yourself.
  • Impersonators. Fake creator profiles on social media and messaging apps ask for gift cards, crypto or payment-app transfers. Pay creators only through OnlyFans.
  • Fake support. OnlyFans’s terms list an email address, a contact form and a postal address, not a phone number, so “OnlyFans support” phone numbers in search results aren’t official.

OnlyFans scams goes through each one and how to check that a page is the real creator.

How to use OnlyFans safely

  1. Sign in only at onlyfans.com, typed yourself, and turn on two-step verification in your account settings.
  2. Use a username and picture that don’t identify you, and don’t share personal details in messages.
  3. Pay only through OnlyFans. Never send money to a creator, “manager” or “support” contact any other way.
  4. Switch off auto-renew on pages you only want for a month, and check your statement for charges you don’t recognise.
  5. Before paying, check that the page is the real creator and worth the price: is an OnlyFans page worth it? has the checks.

Age checks and consent

OnlyFans requires everyone with an account to be at least 18. To open a creator account, its terms require a valid form of ID and two photos of the creator, plus more age or identity verification whenever OnlyFans asks. The terms also say that anyone else in a creator’s content must be either a creator tagged on OnlyFans or an adult whose proof of identity and written, informed consent the creator holds. OnlyFans publishes a complaints policy for reporting content you think is illegal.

TastyFans lists only public profile information from creators’ pages, and links to their real pages so you can check them before you pay.

Questions

Is OnlyFans legit?

Yes. OnlyFans is run by Fenix International Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with a London office, and its terms, privacy policy and complaints policy are public. The risks for fans come mostly from look-alike sites and scams around OnlyFans, not from onlyfans.com itself.

Is it safe to put my card on OnlyFans?

Card details go to OnlyFans’s third-party payment provider, not to creators, who never see your card or real name. Charges are in US dollars with tax added, and subscriptions renew until you turn auto-renew off, so check your statement and cancel what you don’t use.

Can OnlyFans creators see who I am?

They see your username, display name, profile picture and what you buy from them, not your real name, email address or card. Your bank statement names OnlyFans, so the charge isn’t private from whoever sees your statement.

Can you get a virus from OnlyFans?

Not from browsing onlyfans.com in an up-to-date browser. The risk is in what claims to be OnlyFans: “free account” generators, unlockers, leak sites and unofficial downloads, which can carry malware or steal logins.

Are OnlyFans creators really over 18?

OnlyFans requires everyone with an account to be at least 18. To open a creator account, the terms require a valid ID and two photos of the creator, and they say anyone else appearing in a creator’s content must be a verified creator or an adult whose identity and written consent the creator holds.
